Click on the images above to see the differences between three wavebands viewed in the direction of the galactic plane (l = 53, b =0). The image on the left shows the same field as seen by the POSS (wavelength = 0.43 µm), 2MASS (wavelength = 2.17 µm), and IRAS (wavelength = 12 µm). The image on the right is a comparison between the POSS at wavelength = 0.65 µm, 2MASS and IRAS. The IRAS image was generated with a maximum entropy reconstruction developed by Do Kester.
